Let me first state that I am a proud enrolled Cherokee male. When I travel across the country and attend many events in a certain capacity, I am greated and treated with respect and the willingness to hear what I have to share about many topics especially legislative issues regarding Native Americans as a whole.

When I cross the unseen lines that seperate the Qualla Boundary from the United States, I know full well and can rest in the comfort that as a citizen of the United States, I am protected by certain rights and I am also held to accountability for my actions as a citizen living in the 21st century.

When I return and recross these unseen lines which seperate my tribe from the rest of the world as a soveriegn nation, I leave the world of Democracy and enter a world of dictatorship where here in the 21st century Cherokee people have no rights or voice in their government.

Here in the 21st century, I as an enrolled member of my tribe which in all truth is nothing more then an organization and or corporation, find myself not as a member of a tribe, but a stockholder in a company where my views are not recognized as my elected officals hold my proxy and persume to speak for me and know what's best.

Corporation involved with profits and margins, YES. Government for the people, by the people., NO

Every viable and legitimate Democractic government in the world is goverened by a Constitution developed by the people in which it will protect and govern.

My Tribe at one historical time had a viable Constitution developed by the people in collabration with tribal leaders. The political winds of corruption have since changed this by our present politcal machine has decided that it be best to eliminate our Constitution, and crete and adhere to articles that unlike an established Constitution which would require the input of the people it protects to change or alter, to a system that subsections of these articles can be changed without any input from the people and to prtoect self-serving interests.

So what does the 21st century mean to me as a Cherokee?

I live in a Communist state surrounded by Democracy.

But what will the 21st century bring to the Cherokee?

A revolution not seen since the 18th century when 13 colonies and supporters banded to together and in one loud voice told a tyrannt across the great sea that we want our freedom. They fought and remained together and won their freedom.

We will have this victory also. We have a tyrannical government which consists of incompatent people and a leader who has no concern for others but his self-serving interests.

The 21st century will be remembered as a time that the Cherokee people banded together and took back their government.

So what does the 21st century REALLY MEAN to me as a Cherokee?

FREEDOM
